If The Eyes Are The Windows To The Soul,..Then A Blog Must Be the Soul's Mirror!!

Spent some time whale watching on youtube.com and other websites and reading other blogs!! Whew!!  What some folks write!!  One guy had a real fight going on between two ladies and another GUY!!  All three were after the same guy!!  Talk about expressions of jealousy!!  And it was there,..online,..where anyone could read about it!!

I mean,..jealousy!  Who hasn't felt it?  Online,..sometimes,..it can be so obvious, and I often wonder just what drives people to expressing it on their computers in ways that make it perfectly obvious to the world.  Violence and jealous expressed online,..I do believe,..are obvious signs of what a person would be capable of doing in real life if they have a desparate need for attention.

Look at the Columbine murderers and the progenitor of the massacre at Virginia Tech.  Each of these killers expressed themselves violently online,..cursing out their enemies and expressing their jealousy in vile language and vivid descriptions of what they were going to do when they got the chance to the people that they resented.  People,..whose success that they resented,..were singled out in specialized blogs,..which first reviled the victims.  This was followed up by detailed descriptions of what the killers would like to do with their victims,..a sort of mental frottage.  One of the most obvious signs of people, like Cho and the Columbine killers, and people with like tendencies is that they have the habit of blaming their victims for their own murders!!  Talk about weird!!  Blaming the folks,..who were killed,..for their own deaths!!

I was talking to my PhD in psychology friend a few weeks ago. He was giving me his latest theory on online psychosis and his newest theory on how people present themselves to others online.  This guy is a college professor,..whose research specialties get run by me because I just sit and say,.."Yeah!  Yeah!!  Yeah!  That sounds good!!"

The latest theory of my intellectual friend goes that posting online has an element of just being between the poster and his/her computer. Thus,..a person puts their "true self" into their blog or what they want to write online.  If this theory is correct,..then,..a person is exposing what they really are online!!

A similar theory is that whatever you most accuse another person of,..that is what you,..yourself,..are most guilty of!!  So if a person tells me in their blog that they think that I'm a stinker or worse,..what they are really telling me that that is what they are themselves!!  People project their own opinion of themselves on others in their blogs or other online writings!!!!

Don't ask me to explain the reasoning behind these mental perambulations of my friend, who has more intellect in his left thumb that I have in my entire brain!! I doubt if I could follow his reasoning,..but as he has more college degrees than any six people I know,..I'll take his word on his "theories on online psycholgy of personalty exposition!!"

Maybe there should be a computer patrol to constantly scan blogs, etc. looking for enraged individuals.  That would be a triple full time job!

After being on here for several years, I have found that most people write the way they would talk in real life.  Personalities really do come through.  Some seem nice on the surface, but you can see the bitterness come through once in a while.  Can also tell people whose feelings get easily hurt.  And, have you ever looked on national news sites at some of the comments?  Talk about vicious people.  Especially over controversial issues.  Never have I seen such nasty name-calling!!!  And the further along the comments go, the worse they get.  Do you think they would talk that way in real life??  And others comment JUST to make trouble.  And am surprised at how many "take the bait".  Ignore them, and they might shut up.
